Applications Process

Applications process

At Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks), we have a five steps selection process for all our advertised positions:

1. Essential criteria

We set essential criteria for all job applications. Please detail how you meet the criteria as outlined in the job description. You should give specific and clear examples, which clearly demonstrate your ability to meet the criteria. Failure to demonstrate how you meet the criteria may result in you not being shortlisted for interview.

2. Apply online

Applicants can apply for advertised positions through our jobs portal. We've created a set of application guidelines for using our jobs portal which you must read before applying. Please note that we cannot accept CVs in place of application forms.

3. Short listing

We will shortlist candidates based on the essential criteria required for the role. We will contact all candidates to confirm whether they have been shortlisted for interview.

4. Interviews

We will invite shortlisted candidates to interview and, using a competency based approach, will see how well candidates match the essential qualities required for the position.

Your interview is the perfect opportunity for you to sell yourself: to tell us more about your achievements and the challenges you have faced and overcome in the past. This will help us determine whether you are right for the role. Here are some additional tips for interview.

5. Outcome

Following the interview a member of our Human Resources team will contact all candidates to let them know the outcome of the recruitment process.
