Altering your load requirements

Are you installing electric heating, a hot tub, swimming pool or ground source heat pump? Or are you downsizing a high load appliance? If you are changing your electrical load requirements we need to understand the amount of electricity you will need.

Increase your connection capacity

If you are installing any major new electrical equipment we need to understand the amount of electricity your new arrangements will need. You will need to tell us what your existing load details are and what your new load requirements will be. We will then carry out a design and provide you with a quotation to upgrade your electricity connection to meet your load requirements. You may need to get help from your electrical contractor and your chosen electricity supplier to fill in parts of the form. It is important that you fill in the details accurately so we give you the best design and cost for your requiements.

It also means that we can let you know if your existing connection is adequate to meet your new requirements.

Read and complete the sections of the application form relatiing to altering your existing electricity connection. You should also gather all the necessary supporting documentation  

• Existing load details
• Details of the proposed new increased loads

Should additional work be required you may be able to carry out the excavation and reinstatement of any cable trenches in private property, resulting in a reduction in costs.

On receipt of your application we will carry out a detailed site investigation which will result in either:

1. a new installation design and the issue of a quotation for the work or;
2. a connection adequate letter. 

If we have to build new lines or upgrade any service cable we will let you know in your letter of quotation.
