How to apply for a multi site development

Before you apply, you will need to consider which development. Typically there are 3 main types of developments:

1. Housing developments of 2 or more dwellings
2. Apartment blocks
3. Business units

Step 1

Download a connections application form for multi site developments [301kB PDF] or contact our helpline on 08457 643 643 to get a pack sent to you.

Step 2

Read and complete the application forms and gather all the necessary supporting documentation.  We will need the following:

• A site location map scaled to 1:2500
• A site plan scaled to 1:500
• Floor plan showing proposed meter positions
• Elevation drawings if your development is close to existing NIE equipment
• Stamp approved planning permission
• A complete list of full postal addresses for each connection within the site

We will need to understand the amount of electricity required for your new development including accurate load details for the development which should be supplied by your electrical contractor.

You also need to consider whether the development site requires:

1. an alteration to existing NIE equipment
2. disconnection of live equipment
3. a public street lighting scheme
