NIE industrial bursaries
This structured scheme offers Post-16 students paid research and development placements for a period of four weeks during the summer.
We provide a number of placements for students each year who work on real life STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) project alongside our industry mentor. The scheme starts with an induction day for students and company representatives. During the four week placement the students carry out appropriate research on the problem, make recommendations based on their research, produce an industrial report and develop a poster presentation illustrating their work which will be displayed at a celebration day.
This programme is an excellent insight into engineering for pre-university students who are considering a career in engineering.
