Biomass Biomas boiler

Biomass is the collective term used to describe any plant or animal matter, including plant waste, animal waste and human sewage. It can be used as a solid fuel or converted into liquid or gas to generate electricity, heat, chemicals or fuels by burning it. Who would have thought your wheely bin full of waste could actually generate electricity.

Fuels from biomass are the largest exploited source of renewable energy throughout the world and in 2004 accounted for 10.6% of the world’s energy supply.
