Before you contact us

  • Are your trip switches in the ON position? Sometimes when the electricity goes off it is due to a problem with the electrics inside your home. Before reporting a power cut you should reset your trip switches (ie. turn them off and back on again). You may have more than one trip switch in your property.
  • Are your neighbours without electricity? Sometimes power cuts affect individual homes or businesses but they are more likely to affect a number of properties. If a power cut only affects one property we may contact you before dispatching an engineer.
  • Pre-pay meter customers - is there credit in your meter? If you pay for your electricity as you go, you should make sure that there is credit in your meter before reporting a power cut. If you have run out of credit, your electricity will switch off.
