Managing risk together

As part of European Heath and Safety Week (22 - 28 October 2012) at NIE we have launched our latest safety campaign for the contracting community. The 'Managing risk together' campaign hopes to raise the awareness of the dangers of working in the vicinity of the electricity network and what contractors can do to keep themselves and everyone working on site safe. 

Any contact with NIE equipment can result in a fatality and contractors should exercise extreme caution when working near underground cables and overhead lines. 

We are here to help but planners and contractors must contact us in good time to request drawings and information about locations of NIE equipment. We will issue a 'mark up' drawing, free of charge. Click here for more information on requesting network maps.

We currently offer contractors a wide range of advice and assistance to help them avoid overhead and underground cables including advice talks, leaflets, videos, cab safety stickers, maps and diagrams of the underground electricity network. Contact  our safety advisors for more information.
