Parents and teachers

Every year hundreds of people including children are injured or killed by coming into contact with electricity.

At Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) we believe that an increased awareness among children about the dangers the better they can keep themselves, their friends and their family safe.

We’ve created a series of resources including factsheets and educational safety posters to teach children about how electricity is made, the journey it makes from the power station to the home and the dangers of electricity and how children can stay safe.

Educational safety posters:

  1. Power stations [136kB PDF]
  2. Pylons [126kB PDF]
  3. Substations  [149kB PDF]
  4. Poles and overhead lines  [106kB PDF]
  5. Mini-pillars [158kB PDF]
  6. Your home [143kB PDF]
