Northern Ireland Electricity is proud of its environmental track record and works hard to ensure the company’s impact on the environment is minimised.

As a major infrastructure owner and developer NIE has introduced an environmental management system which is ISO14001 accredited. We will aim to ensure we adhere to the requirements of our ISO standard in carrying out our work.

Environmental excellence makes good business sense. Reducing waste, recycling, reducing our carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency all save money. NIE has a dedicated environment officer who regularly monitors and evaluates the company’s performance against these targets.
