Powerful Business Event

It’s not often that business people get the opportunity to hear how to succeed from a homegrown business tycoon.  
 
That’s exactly what was on offer at the Northern Ireland Electricity sponsored B4B event on at the Grand Opera House recently.  
 
Bill Wolsey, owner of the newly opened and prestigious Merchant Hotel in Belfast, gave an insight into how he started his business with one very run-down pub to a stable of twenty two pubs, hotels etc, along with a successful property portfolio.  
 
NIE’s Alison Moore said: “NIE was keen to support this event because it is the perfect opportunity for any sort of business person to learn from a local innovator.  
 
“Bill and his company Beannchor include many of Belfast’s most impressive bars, club, restaurants and now hotels that the province has ever seen in its portfolio. We are pleased that a lot of business people came to the event to benefit from his experience.”  
 
B4B is a unique business-networking organisation, which assists companies interact and network together to foster business opportunities and facilitate business development. B4B currently has in the region of 150 member organisations.  
 
Jack McComiskey Chairman of B4B added: “This is one of our monthly networking events which turned out to be an excellent event. B4B is relevant for all types of business whether they are start-ups, sole traders, major banks and everything in between. We’re delighted that this event was so well attended and also that NIE sponsored it.”  
 
Local businessman Martin McMullan from The Highpoint Group based in Castlewellan was at the event, he said: “These B4B events give me a good opportunity to network. Hearing from someone like Bill encourages businesses people like myself.”  
 
The event was held in The Baby Grand at the Grand Opera House, which gave those attending the opportunity to experience the new facilities on offer at Belfast’s newest city centre conference venue.
