Viridian Welcomes Milestone In Progress To The Single Electricity Market

Viridian Group welcomes the announcment today (July 3) by the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) and the Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation (NIAUR) regarding the "Go-active" of the legal framework for the Single Electricity Market (SEM).  
Viridian spokesperson Robin Greer said: “This is a very welcome milestone to see passed. Successfully implemented the single electricity market will deliver choice and competitively priced electricity supplies to consumers throughout the island.  
We are working with Eirgrid to deliver the Tyrone to Cavan Interconnector which will provide the necessary physical infrastructure to enable the market to function at its full potential.”
