Electric Course for Coleraine Business

18/07/2007

Northern Ireland Electricity and North West Marketing have sponsored the first ever ebay training course for businesses in the North West.

The ‘Basics of Selling on ebay’, which was delivered by Michael Hughes who is the only trained and approved ebay education specialist on the island of Ireland, covered amongst other things; how to register on ebay, how to research, buy and sell on ebay plus how to spot scams and avoid them.

This successful event was held recently in North West Marketing’s offices and proved a great success among the attendees.

Angeline Sloan from sponsor NIE said: “ebay now has over 200 million subscribers worldwide, 15 million of them in the UK alone. Sales on ebay this year will top £25 billion and around 1million users make all or most of their income on it. UK residents spend more per head online than any other population in Europe.

“ebay offers an excellent business opportunity for North West businesses to set out their stall and sell their wares on the worldwide web. NIE is delighted to be able to support this first of a kind training course in Ireland.”

Sara While from Crafters and Co in Coleraine, which offers a large range of card materials including rubberstamps and inks as well as card-making classes for the public, attended the ebay training course. She added: “ The course has not only been very informative but well structured and extremely enjoyable. I am certain this training will benefit our business in the near future.”

ebay trainer Michael Hughes was delighted with the class response he said, “ebay opens up a world of opportunities for small and medium sized businesses. With your own website you have to design, maintain, manage and market it yourself whereas on ebay, 95% of that work is done for you and an audience of 200 million can see your products.”
