NIE Winner Shops Day Away!

20/09/2007

Michelle Jeans from Bangor is the lucky winner of Northern Ireland Electricity’s weekly direct debit giveaway.

Michelle signed up to direct debit (DD) recently and was automatically entered into a free prize draw to win £100 worth of Marks and Spencer vouchers.

NIE’s Emma Hawthorne visited Michelle at her Bangor home to present her with the prize. Emma said: “ Paying by direct debit is fast becoming the preferred method of payment by our customers. People are finding it less time consuming to pay this way.”

NIE will be giving away prizes in the weeks. To be in with a chance of winning, simply switch to paying your NIE bill by direct debit.

Michelle added: “ I recently moved house and when I rang NIE to register I was told about direct debit and the 4% discount that I would receive. I decided to go for it and have found it to be a very handy way of paying!”

Householders who choose to pay their NIE bill by monthly direct debit get up to £28 a year off electricity bills, that’s 4% discount. Monthly direct debit enables householders to spread the cost of their electricity over the course of the year, taking into consideration possible seasonal changes in usage. Customers will know how much is due to go out of their account as a monthly amount is set, giving customers more control.

If you prefer to pay the actual NIE bill amount, customers can pay by quarterly direct debit saving up to £18 per year, 2.5% off bills. NIE’s direct debit means convenient payments with discount off future bills. You will continue to get a statement from NIE, so you know the details of electricity usage.

To pay your NIE bill by direct debit and get discounted electricity simply call NIE on 08457 455 455 (home lines open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and on Saturday 9am to 1pm).
