NIE scholarship

At Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), we believe in establishing strong links between academia and industry.

We have predicted a skills shortage in power engineering within the next ten years.

To bridge this gap, we offer a number of scholarships with Queen’s University Belfast.

Scholarships include financial support, mentoring and invaluable experience within the power industry. We look for high fliers within electrical engineering who have the drive and passion to work within the power industry.

What we offer

Our scholarship includes:

• a bursary of £2,200 towards tuition fees for each year of your study
• a book allowance of £220 per year.
• paid summer placements of 8 weeks throughout the duration of your studies
• one year paid industrial placement

You will also have the opportunity of establishing a strong professional network and gaining a wealth of experience of the power industry which will enhance your long term employability.
